Tina Louise Barr
Tina Louise Barr of Modesto, California, is credited as the “powerhouse performer” of the autoharp. Tina is acclaimed for her concise melody picking and dynamic performances. Her amazing versatility with the autoharp is limitless in style.
An innovator in her field, Tina Louise Barr gives autoharp workshops at music festivals across the U.S. Tina is well-known for her remarkable clarity on the autoharp, and she is equally adept in mastering crystal-clear melody on sweet delicate musical pieces as she is with her up-tempo selections. Her repertoire reflects a multitude of musical influences, ranging from anywhere and beyond folk, Celtic, Latin, swing jazz, or rock. She plays both chromatic and diatonic autoharps.
Pete Daigle, an accomplished luthier and the editor of the former international publication Autoharp Quarterly, states, “Tina Louise Barr is in a class by herself in the autoharp world and beyond. Her electrifying style ignites an audience and pumps the adrenaline of all in the room, with an always young and energetic feel for what our instrument is capable of. In addition to performing, Tina offers a distinctive perspective in teaching autoharp, and students in her workshops come away with a special freshness in advancing their level of playing.”
Tina is a winner of the Modesto Area Music Association (MAMA) Award, in the “Best Americana” category. She is a recipient of the California Bluegrass Association Service Award.
