The Goodhues Band
The Goodhues Band members include Kim Goodhue (autoharp and vocals}; his two sons, Geoffrey (guitar, mandolin and vocals) and Ryan (accordion, keyboard, and vocals); and Roland Clark (fiddle and vocals). The band covers a wide range of Americana material including ole timey, Appalachian, bluegrass, ragtime, Southern gospel, country, folk, Celtic, and a few popular classics of Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, and others. They emphasize close two- and three-part harmonies, polished instrumental arrangements, and sincere, energetic delivery.
The Goodhues Band started out in 2005 playing local venues and, over the years since then, has performed at numerous area festivals, coffee houses, pubs, and churches. The band performed at Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering in 2016, at a number of venues in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2016, then at Northwest Autoharp Gathering in 2019. They recorded three CDs over the years: Short Time Here, Long Time Gone in 2005, Root & Branch in 2007, and Songs from the Inside in 2012. They led a number of workshops as well and were recently featured in an Autoharp Quarterly interview
Kim has played and performed traditional music since high school and has been a finalist in the Mountain Laurel Autoharp Championship. Geoffrey and Roland play regularly in their award-winning bluegrass ensemble Beg, Steal or Borrow. Geoff also performs in the Bryan Bowers Band. Ryan currently lives in Albuquerque and performs in the well-established country and Cajun band High Desert Playboys.
The band members eagerly look forward to returning to the Mountain Laurel stage and hope to relive the magic from their earlier appearance there.
