The Mountain Laurel Autoharp Gathering brings together autoharp enthusiasts from around the world for five days of workshops, concerts and 'round the clock music-making. Now in its twenty-seventh year, the Gathering features concerts and workshops from some of the folk world's best musicians -- and they come because no matter what else they're famous for, they also just happen to play the autoharp!

Our 28th Annual Gathering was held June 20-24, 2018 at Little Buffalo State Park Campground just outside Newport, Pennsylvania.

We had a great time as anticipated and we will be publishing photos and videos in the coming weeks. For the moment; however, here is Gregg Averett's Gathering Recap for you to savor.

Our 2019 Gathering will be held at Little Buffalo from June 26-30, 2019.

Our featured performers for 2019:

Bryan Bowers • Rick Fitzgerald • Tom Schroeder
Allison Guinn • Bob Lewis • Michael Poole

We are planning more Pre-Gathering Classes next year as well. For now, we're leaving the 2018 descriptions up on the site so you can see the kind of material that will be offered in 2019. Stay tuned for all the details as they develop!

Hot News

August 15, 2018: We're working hard to completely revamp our On Line Registration system for the 2019 Gathering. In conjunction with that effort, we will also be re-designing our WEB site which is long overdue. Look for all that to happen in the next few weeks but certainly by the end of September. With that in mind, we anticipate that on-line registration for 2019 will be ready by the 1st of October at the latest. Stay tuned!

Oldies But Goodies

January 14, 2017: Luthiers and MLAG Board Members, Tom Fladmark and Greg Schreiber, have just published an excellent video covering all aspects of changing strings on virtually any autoharp. Whether you have an OS or a hand-crafted luthier 'harp, Tom and Greg show you exactly how to approach and complete the task of changing just one or all the strings on your 'harp. The video includes instructions for working with A and B model OS 'harps as well as 'harps featuring Schreiber, D'aigle, and/or Lumbert fine tuners.

June 10, 2016: Pennsylvania Magazine has published a nice article about Mountain Laurel in their May/June issue. Thanks to Laurie Jean Houck for the wonderful story and pictures. Here's a link to the original PDF file.
